The Evening Standard: Helping London reach net zero

As the carbon countdown clock ticks on, cities must be bolder, more imaginative and more collaborative, a lively round table hosted in Newham by E.ON and the Evening Standard heard.

“Net zero is around the corner,” said Mike Wake, director of city energy solutions and generation at E.ON. The UK has cut emissions by 40 per cent to date – mostly through the growth of large renewable generation on the grid – but further cuts will be needed closer to home as London grapples with new ways of using and sharing energy.
